Question 1

What is fragrance layering?

Accepted Answer

Fragrance layering is the art of combining two or more perfumes, colognes, or scent products to create a unique, personalized fragrance. Layering Lab by Base Notes lets you discover and share fragrance layering combinations built from compatible notes and accords.

Question 2

How do I layer perfume and cologne the right way?

Accepted Answer

Start with a moisturizing base like Base Notes lotion or oil, then build with lighter top and middle notes before richer base notes. Choose fragrances that share complementary accords. Layering Lab recommends note-compatible combinations and shows longevity, projection, and compliment ratings.

Question 3

What are fragrance notes and accords?

Accepted Answer

Fragrance notes are the individual scent ingredients (top, middle, and base) that make up a perfume. Accords are balanced blends of notes. Matching notes and accords is the key to successful perfume pairing and scent layering.

Question 4

Can I share my perfume layering combinations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On Layering Lab you can publish your signature layering combinations to your profile wall, follow other creators, and discover trending fragrance pairings across men's, women's, and unisex styles for every season.
